This past week has found us linked with more transfers then any other since the summer transfer window closed. There are five rumours that I will be touching on.
In-
Franck Ribery - Midfielder/Winger - Bayern Munich
This would be a good bit of business in my opinion. Ribery is a world class play maker and would only improve our team. This would only work though if Robinho left, as they both play similar positions and neither would like to show up on the bench.

At this point its purely speculation.
Yaya Toure - Center Back/Defensive Midfielder - Barcelona
This is a long term target for Hughes, and is more likely by the day as he is slipping down the pecking order at Barcelona. The rumour here is some sort of swap deal for Robinho.

Hughes is an admirer, and his brother Kolo is now our Captain. In my opinion this is a matter of when not a matter of if.
Carles Puyol - Center Back - Barcelona
This rumour is considered part of the swap deal for Robinho. Hughes has reportedly been chasing the very experienced center back this summer, only to pull away after our signing of Lescott. He would bring much experience to the squad, but at 31 he doesn't have too many years left in him.

Although experienced, none of the experience comes in the Premier League. He would bring leadership, but for how long?
Yossi Benayoun - Midfielder - Liverpool
Personally I think this would be a great deal of business, especially if we do qualify for the Champions League next season. He would be a terrific "first man off the bench" and can play many different roles in midfield. And from watching him at Liverpool, he has little problem featuring off the bench.

Although a very typical Hughes signing, it is merely speculation at this point.
Diego Tardelli - Striker - Atletico Minerio
I think this is just Brazilian paper talk. He is 24 years old and failed on loan spells in Europe twice, neither in the much more physical Premier League. This goes against every Hughes signing.

Paper talk.
Out-
Robinho - Barcelona
My gut tells me that Hughes doesn't get on well with Robinho, and that if another signing more towards Hughes' preference, signs on, Robinho will be gone.

Too many similar rumours from too many different sources to ignore this one. My gut says there is probably something in it.
Vincent Kompany - Barcelona
I can't foresee this happening.
Living for the City's possibility meter -
1/10
Not much in it.
Micah Richards - Anywhere
Reportedly falling out with Hughes and Capello, he thinks he might need a move to revive his career.

I can see this happening. It is clear Hughes has some issues in his game.
I will keep updating rumours such as these, I am especially keeping my eye on Robinho, Ribery, and Benayoun.

Over the past six months, every time I hear rumors of Ribery I hope he will join our squad. I feel like his game of high energy, precise passing and overall skill would be great on our squad and in the premier league. As much as I love Robinho and his glimpses of brilliance, he has shown that he does not play his best football in the premier league and often drifts out of games. I also think that the level of chemistry that we want cannot be formed with him on the squad.
